At our Troop meeting on Wed, May 8th, scouts and leaders from Troop 270 cleaned up the Memorial Garden at the Newtown Congregational Church, our Sponsor Organization. The garden is at the very front of the church property adjacent to the intersection of West Street and Castle Hill Road. While easy to miss, the space is a quiet and serene spot for peace and reflection. We cleaned up weeds and overgrowth, trimmed trees, and laid down a fresh layer of mulch. Some scouts also used this meeting as a good opportunity to clean out in and around our trailer.
